What Is Personalization?

Personalization means tailoring content and experiences on a website to each individual user. This is achieved by analyzing user data such as behavior, interests, and demographic information. The goal of personalization is to increase the relevance and appeal of content in order to strengthen user engagement, boost conversion rates, and ultimately maximize business success.

Through tailored recommendations, personalized offers, and individually adapted communication strategies, users feel better understood and valued, leading to a more durable and profitable customer relationship.

Personalization can be as simple as gender-specific messaging in a login area, or personalized text that adapts based on a prior Google search query, presenting the user with content that directly matches their search.

Integrating with Your Website

To get started with personalization, you need to integrate the personalization engine into your website or landing page. Acceleraid's software can be flexibly integrated and adapted to work with any type of website or content management system (CMS).

There are two basic integration methods:

JavaScript Integration (Client-Side):

Platform-independent and straightforward

Add a JavaScript snippet to your website

The code can be downloaded directly from the software

Server-Side Integration via API:

Enables full integration into your CMS

Additional integration options available if needed

Since we have more than a decade of experience integrating with a wide variety of systems, we'll find the optimal integration solution for your company as well. You'll receive support and guidance throughout the entire integration process.

Passing Data from Your CMS

Today, data can be passed through a variety of methods and channels. One of the simplest is working with URL parameters — parameters appended directly to a URL.

Our system is able to capture and work directly with all available parameters, whether to analyze data based on specific attributes or to drive personalization based on that data.

Example: An insurance company wants to use the following parameters:

Google keyword: The keyword entered by the user, used to display content on the page that matches that keyword

utm_campaign parameter: Information about the campaign the user visited, used to display the discounts communicated in that campaign

Gender: The user's gender information from the CMS, used to display gender-specific messaging in a members-only login area

Location: The user's geographic location, used to display local offers and events

Weather: Current weather conditions, used to provide weather-dependent recommendations

Device: The user's device type, used to deliver an optimized display and functionality

Age: The user's age, used to present age-appropriate products and content

Interest: The user's interests, used to recommend relevant articles and products

Purchase_history: The user's purchase history, used to make personalized product recommendations

Language: The user's preferred language, used to display content in the corresponding language

Referrer: The source from which the user arrived at the page, used to show specific landing pages

Membership_level: The user's membership tier, used to display exclusive benefits and discounts

These are just a few examples — in principle, there are few limits to what's imaginable and feasible. Any parameter that can be passed via URL can be used for personalization.

Once these parameters are captured and processed by Acceleraid, they enable more precise personalization for each parameter.

Imagine creating four personalized versions of your example landing page, each with different images, text, and layouts corresponding to a specific keyword and/or campaign. By processing these two parameters, the Acceleraid system can identify the optimal variant for specific keywords such as "free travel insurance" and campaigns such as "benefits of travel insurance," and present it to the user.

If, in coordination with Acceleraid, you've connected additional third-party systems, those systems can of course also feed data into our system for use.

Conclusion

Through simple integration via a JavaScript snippet and URL parameters, you can personalize any CMS/CRM system. Alternatively, server-side integration enables a deeper connection — one that requires more resources on both sides, but also unlocks additional capabilities, such as using a mini-CMS to create and edit personalized content directly within our system.

Take advantage of the flexibility and precision of our Acceleraid software to effectively optimize your website and boost your conversion rates!
